The times are tough in 1,000 different ways but we live in a world in which Magic Mike, a heartfelt documentary about male strippers, has improbably transformed into a massive multimedia program. There are someMagic Mike stage shows around the world, a touring company, and even a soon-to-premiere reality series,Finding Magic Mike.
Channing Tatum, who directed and performed in the films as Mike, was a major part of the program. Today, he announced that planning a thirdMagic Mikefilm, titledMagic Mikes Last Dance. The photo featured a script from Reid Carolin, who written both of the previous movies, and included Steven Soderbergh''s participation back as a director. (Soderbergh only produced and photographedXXL, which was directed by Gregory Jacobs.)
Soderbergh said in a statement toDeadline that he expects to return for anotherMagic Mikeas shortly after seeing what Channing, Reid, and the Magic Mike choreographic team did with the live broadcast...Mike Lanes aspires to connect people through dance; in his own statement, Tatum said no words for how excited I am to blow the doors off of Magic Mike...The stripperverse will never be the same.
Guys, he called it theMagic MikeStripperverse. It doesnt get any better than that. The film is being made exclusively for HBO Max.
