Let the party (down) begin.
Party Down, the popular cult television series from 2009 and 2010, has been confirmed for six new episodes on Starz. Six of the seven main cast members from the original show will be back for this new run: Adam Scott, Ken Marino, Ryan Hansen, Martin Starr, Jane Lynch, and Megan Mullally.
The original star of Lizzy Caplan is expected to reprise her roles on HulusFleishman Is in Trouble at the same time that the Starz comedy will be released. The actress also recently signed on to star in another reboot,Fatal Attractionfor Paramount+, putting her dance card in the midst of conflicts.
The creative team behind the original 20Party Downepisodes productions John Enborn, Rob Thomas, Dan Etheridge, and Paul Rudd have all returned for the new show. Shortly after the premiere, there were reports of a potentialParty Down movie, but this particular projectoriginated in late 2019, following the cast and production reuniting at a Vulture Festival retrospective.
Rob Thomas said in March that we wanted to find a way to get the team back together. These days, the cast is so busy that finding a suitable location may be required for trigonometry, but they were determined to do so.
These are now available. (Well, mostly.) While you wait for the next season, Starz can stream the oldParty Down episodes.
