You can''t see a pair of white sneakers in your closet that aren''t quite as white anymore. Maybe they had one too many nights dancing on a sticky bar floor or kept you comfortable while you stomped around a music event. Theyve got stuck by you, they have been through the wash (more than once) and quite frankly, they''re getting a little boring. Ive made the executive decision that white sneakers are so popular yesterday and that the colorful sneaker trend is here to stay. You don''
When you''re looking for an everyday staple, colorful sneakers are a bit daunting. It can be difficult to justify spending money on what appears like a statement shoe. I was faced with the same issue until I realized that colorful sneakers are an everyday shoe choice. It doesn''t mean that it can''t be a wardrobe staple.
The first is by picking a color combo that suits the majority of your outfits. I might also purchase the most outrageous, most lavish pair of sneakers on the market, but I will have the option of using blue or green accents.
Another tactic (which is much more fun) is going against the idea to coordinate and selecting a primary color that matches almost nothing in your closet. This way, youre treating your feet as your best accessory the sneaker shade will act as your main pop of color, but it will not matter if they match perfectly. It''s really cool to have a passion for clashing fashion (otherwise known as maximalism).
With two pairs of Birdies sneakers, I put the two-tactic colorful shoe theories to the test. I got the Roadrunner style because its a well-known combination of sleek and sporty, which allows me to wear them a variety of sizes, from leggings to a sundress.
The Roadrunner in Ultramarine
This bright blue pair of sneakers features a combination of suede and nylon materials. A small orange tab also gives the perfect addition color pop.
I selected a bright blue pair of Birdies sneakers for my closet because they would be nice to pair them with the majority of them. These shoes only have one shade of blue, therefore they are on the tamer side of interesting choices. I like wearing them with denim shorts and a crisp button down or a bright sundress.
In an all-over orange hue, my second choice was completely out of my comfort zone. As my theory explains, while the bold color matched nothing in my closet it complimented everything.
The Roadrunner in Siren
While tangy orange may seem like a summer-only color, it works great with neutral shades all year round. This pair is super comfortable so you will be able to wear them long-distance for a long time.
