Pangea provides API-based cloud security services for application developers ...

Pangea Cyber Corporation, a cloud security company, has released a core set of API security services that application builders may use to quickly and easily create a secure and compliant user experience for their apps. Pangea has also announced $25 million in series A funding. Pangea is the first business to offer a broad portfolio of API-based security services through a single platform.

Pangea, led by Oliver Fredrichs and Sourabh Satish, is focusing on cloud applications, one of the most rapidly growing and sensitive areas of cybersecurity. The company provides security services for cloud and mobile app developers, SaaS platform providers, and security operations.

Increased demand for security integration

Security measures are necessary to avoid data or code being stolen or hijacked at the app. A developer will have to compose security code from scratch to add security and compliance features to every application.

Developers can now go to a single, trusted source to quickly and easily integrate security services and APIs into their applications. Pangea''s product is similar to Amazon Web Services, although it focuses on cybersecurity and includes a few dozen API-based microservices.

Businesses will need to accelerate their digital transformation initiatives due to the coronavirus outbreak. Developers working remotely on cloud-native apps will have greater security in their coding environments, and application security teams will be tasked with assisting faster development cycles rather than discovering vulnerabilities.

Pangea claims that it is focusing on eliminating application security, as well as reducing the complexity of the application process. Pangea assists enterprises that want to bring secure, compliant cloud and mobile applications to market, as well as SOCs that want to automate more efficiently via APIs.

Pangeas tools and competition

According to Barmak Meftah, the general partner at Ballistic Ventures, every organization today is producing software in some way or another, but it''s unreal to anticipate that every software architect would be a security expert. Pangea is adopting a sensible approach with excellent staff and excellent technology. We''re very eager to work with the Pangea team to transform how the world views about security in applications, according to Barmak.

While cloud-based services have grown, they are becoming increasingly difficult to secure and many developers lack the capability and resources to provide enjoyable user experiences. Pangea is gaining the opportunity to provide builders with the tools they need to produce a compliant and secure consumer experience in a more efficient and timely manner.

Along with its services, such as Secure Audit Logging, Secure Object Store, Secure File Share, and Digital Embargo Check, the company intends to partner with third-party API providers in order to aggregate and offer third-party APIs. Pangeas Secure Audit Logging and Redact are also available through its early access program.
