Following the Joel Schiffman split, Hoda Kotb's heart is open ...

For Today''s co-host, Hoda Kotb, today''s heartbreak is just tomorrow''s fresh start.

Following her recent separation from Joel Schiffman, the 57-year-old television personality admits to keeping her heart open to dating.

While presenting NBC News today, I haven''t really thought about who I''d see myself with, but I have to say something.

I said and asked me at one point, Are you afraid to be by yourself? And I said to her, I will not be by myself. I dont know why I said it so clearly, but I realized that my heart is open. I am open to it.

After eight years together, Kotb announced in late January that she and Schiffman, 64, were resigning from their engagement and stepping down.

I wanted to address something that, according to some of you, might be noticed. People have written in and asked why I wasnt wearing my engagement ring, according to the broadcaster on Monday.

We used to be friends and parents rather than engaged couples, and we learned that during the holiday, we got a lot of prayer and quiet conversations.

In 2019, Schiffman popped the question to Hotb, but their wedding plans were put on hold after the outbreak of the COVID-19 epidemic. In 2013, the couple separated and adopted two daughters: Haley Joy, 5, and Hope Catherine.

It''s not like something happened, Kotb added of her break from the bank. They claim that sometimes relationships are meant to be there for a reason, for a season, or for a lifetime, and I feel that ours was meant to be there for a season.

I feel honored to have spent eight years with him, and she continued. We were both excellent, both going on our way, and we can be fortunate parents to those lovely children.
