Machine Gun Kelly says his new film, Good Mourning, was inspired by what we thought was a breakup text from his wife Megan Fox.
I wrote a film for her because she was unknowingly the cause of the spiral. At the Los Angeles premiere this week, the singer told me a text like in the film.
[My character] spirals over a text that he does not understand and he cant get a hold of her, and that was what he was doing.
MGK, 32, explained that he had performed so many songs and used all these other programs to deal with heart problems in the past, thus he needed something different this time around.
I was like, I was so dependent on someone else to go with it, he said. I was like, I''m just gonna write a movie.
MGK said he shared the script with her on her porch steps because she was like, "This was what you thought the whole time?"
According to IMDB, the Emo Girl singer plays a movie star named London Clash, who turns his world upside down when he must choose between pursuing his one true love and landing a life-changing, starring role.
Fox, Dove Cameron, Becky G, and Whitney Cummings all feature in the comedy, along with MGK''s close pal Pete Davidson.
When I was in the editing shop, [Pete] was like, OK, we had to keep that, and all of his stuff was hilarious.
MGK was asked if they would ever think of eloping like their kids Travis Barker and Kourtney Kardashian during the interview. Last month, the two tied the knot at the One Love Chapel in Las Vegas, despite the fact that the nuptials were not legally binding.
I want to just let, let the world see that as it comes, MGK said of his own intentions with Fox, playing coy on any more details.
On May 20, Good Mourning will be available in theaters and on demand. In the meantime, MGK and Fox will compete in the 2022 Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas.
The self-proclaimed twin flames who have been engaged since January renownedly turned heads at the last years awards show by packing on a major PDA while posing for snaps on the red carpet.
Fox left little to the imagination in a black Mugler dress with cutouts, while MGK chose for a tux with his tongue painted black.
