After just one season, Fox cancels pivoting, our kind of people ...

After just one season, Fox has decided to stop producing comedy Pivoting as well as Our Kind of People.

The latter is particularly surprising as it was one of Fox''s first ever straight-to-series orders. Lee Daniels and Karin Gist had skipped the networks regular pilot season in an attempt to avoid traditional development methods.

Yaya DaCosta, a single mother who embarks on a mission to reclaim her family name when she discovers a false truth about her own mother.

The show, which stars include Morris Chestnut and Joe Morton, received mixed reviews and modest viewership. It averaged less than 2.1 million viewers per episode according to Nielsen''s seven-day ratings.

Following an NFL broadcast, Pivoting had a decent premiere, but quickly retreated in the ratings. The comedy series starring Ginnifer Goodwin, Eliza Coupe, and Maggie Q got mostly good reviews, but ended up with just 1.85 million viewers.

Fox will make its own on Monday afternoon, with new programming expected, including Call Me Kat and Welcome to Flatch. A decision is still pending, as well as animated series Duncanville, Housebroken, and veteran dramas 911, 911: Lone Star and The Resident.
