Team Roc, the philanthropic division of the Jay-Z, has announced the formation of a coalition aimed at combating social justice issues. According to a press release, Team Roc, Charlamagne Tha God, Attorney Ben Crump, Dream Corps founderVan Jones, Marcia Dyson, AttorneyAngela Rye, the Founder, Chairman, and CEO of Vista Equity Partners Robert F. Smith, and Until Freedom''s co-founder Mysonne.

In a statement, the UJC is characterized as a think-tank of professionals from different industries who informally assembled in 2019 to share resources, information, ideas, and support in an attempt to align on strategic goals to combat systemic injustice in the United States. Over the years, they have worked together behind the scenes to clarify issues, develop bipartisan legislation, regulations, and policies, and use support for on-the-ground organizations across the country.

Beginning to pursue their commitment to change the UJC, launched with the announcement of the UJC Summit: Convention on Social Justice.

The United Justice Coalition was formed as an informal conversation of the minds, but it has rapidly evolved into a more purposeful effort to disrupt our communities, according to Dania Diaz, a member of Team ROC and the United Nations Central Committee. This summit will enable discussion and collaboration, and we should adopt a solution-based approach to reforming America''s antiquated policies. At the end of the day, we all are bonded by one common goal to eradicate injustice.

The goal of the summit is to increase awareness and analysis to key topics such as criminal justice reform, mental wellness, and public safety. At the end of July, activists, entertainers, attorneys, lawyers, professionals, journalists, and organizations are expected to attend.

UJC plans to reveal additional information on the public event, including guest speakers and organizations that will participate in panel discussions, networking opportunities, and keynote sessions in the coming weeks. More information can be found on the organization''s official website.
