In senior year, Rebel Wilson transitions into Britney Spears for a spooky dance scene ...

Much of the senior year Netflix drama starring Rebel Wilson that began streaming todayis spent on nostalgia. It makes sense given that Wilson is found as a former high school cheerleader who lands a jump wrong in the year 2002, enters a 20-year coma, and wakes up in the year 2022. (Almost as if the script, from Andrew Knauer, Arthur Pielli, and Brandon Scott Jones, were written in 2019, not 2022). And nothing more 1999 than Britney Spears.

Spears'' debut album Baby One More Time, which became the worldwide label, was released in 1999. So, it''s only fitting that her character, Stephanie, would turn to Britney in a time of need.

Despite Stephanie''s success, the cheerleaders are no longer the popular kids. More than that, they no longer do sexy dances to the 1990 hit single (You Drive Me) Crazy. This is a film that quickly transitions to Wilson in a bold green top in a reenactment of the music video.

Crazy, which was still a hit on the top 10, and with an outstanding music video, top-notch choreography, and, of course, a signature outfit. You can never recreate perfection, but Wilson and her cheerleaders are on a different level.

Wilson said in a behind-the-scenes clip that you can see above along with the whole Crazy dance scene. And, she said, she took the amount very seriously. In a couple takes, our director Alex Hardcastle was like, I thought for a second that was Britney.

Equally impressive are the teen actors, some of whom, according to Wilson, are well-known dancers. The number of auditions was renewed over the course of five days, and the entire cast of young actors immediately jumped in and got it. I was really impressed, she said.

This is not the only booty shake that the cheer squad does in Senior Year. After finally winning the prom queen, Wilson receives an emotional duet with Celine Dions The Power of Love at graduation, and the cheerleaders regal their classmates by gyrating to Nellys Hot in Here. Yet none of the actors has fully recovered from the Crazy scene. Britney will always be the queen.
