Elon Musks'' bid to buy Twitter has hit a big hit. Tesla bosss'' purchase was agreed to in late April. Musk is now putting the whole process on hold.
Elon Musk said in a tweet this morning that he intends to investigate the number of fake users on the platform. Twitter estimates that less than 5% of its user base is comprised of bots and spammers. Elon also wants further information on the matter.
The Twitter agreement has been temporarily put on hold pending evidence that the spam/fake accounts account actually represents less than 5% of users.
Still confident in the acquisition.
The news comes after a drop in stock prices for Twitter and Tesla. It was reported that the electric car company had to recall almost 130,000 vehicles. The on-dash infotainment systems have been overheating.
