This date is significant, as 2000, the Brooklynites'' first album release in more than five years, and also commemorates the 10-year anniversary of his breakout mixtape, 1999.
Joey reveals the album''s title and release date in a post on his social media account, while sharing an accompanying video for the project, which includes a snippet of a previously unknown song from the rapper. He wrote that he didn''t leave #2000 #newalbum #june17th, but I''m glad I found it.
While details about what listeners can expect on 2000 are still being revealed, Joey has dropped some information regarding the album, such as a limited production lineup that includes 1999 collaborators Statik Selektah, Mike Will Made-It, Cardo, and Kirk Knight.
Joey also discussed a collaboration with DJ Premier, a song that is particularly anticipated by fans. In conjunction with the announcement of 2000, the rapper revealed that he will embark on a upcoming tour this summer with a opening show on July 1 in Boston and runs until July 28, with a final show in Los Angeles.
