As Netflix crashes, Disney+ adds about 8 million new subscribers ...

Despite the decline, Netflix maintains a solid lead over competition with around 222 million paying customers on the books. The company anticipates to drop a couple million more subs in the present quarter but will still be far ahead of everyone else. At the end of the last quarter, global HBO Max and HBO subscribers totaled 76.8 million.

The number of Disney+ subscribers has increased by 2.3 percent year over year. Among Disney''s other major streaming platforms, ESPN+ and Hulu, the number of subscriber accounts has increased to 22.3 million and 45.6 million, respectively. DTC services from Disney now have over 205 million subscribers.

Even with the growth, Disney fell short of Wall Street''s prediction. Analysts predicted $20.05 billion in revenue, but Disney generated just $19.25 billion. Adjusted earnings measured in at $1.08 per share, compared to the $1.19 Wall Street forecast.
