Sara Haines learned a valuable lesson this morning: never touch off Joy Behar on Thursdays (May 12) episode of The View. Behar was questioned after being interrupted during a conversation about Patti LuPone, an audience member at her Broadway show this week for not wearing a mask correctly.
While Behar was reading a notecard about another instance in which LuPone accosted another audience member in 2015 (the stage legend yelled, What is it, honey,? Are you drunk? Are you menopausal?) Behar pronounced her last name as LuPone-ee, adding an Italian twist.
Haines, who was seated next to Behar on the panel, could be heard calmly in the background declaring the correct pronunciation of LuPone''s last name. She is an Italian character, according to Haines, who speaks about Behar''s shared heritage.
Behar appreciated the little tip, but decided to leave, implying that Don''t interrupt the reading, after stumbling with hands held up in disbelief. Haines shook her arm, patting her arm, declaring, I know, but they corrected LuPone, refering to herself and other co-hosts.
Tensions slowed as Behar put her hand down on the table and broke into a smile, and Haines jokingly yelled, Clearly Im menopausal and drunk! In addition to LuPones'' quote, it''s fine.
Behar snuck in a dig about Haines'' hairstyle. Today, IsI Dream of Jeannie spotted Haines'' long blond extensions, which were dressed in a ponytail on top of her head. Haines performed with the snide remark, smiling while crossing her arms in front of her chest as series star Barbara Eden.
Behar wrote to Haines before returning to her notecard and adding, which I say to you after finishing reading about LuPone. She told the woman, "Now shut up. "
ABC broadcasts The View on Thursdays from 11/10c.
