AI21 Labs claims to be putting its first phase of natural language processing in the future ...

AI21 Labs, a Tel Aviv, Israel-based AI lab and product company, claims its first development has focused on developing a new modular reasoning language system (MRKL system), which is proven to enhance the power of large language models, along with discrete reasoning experts, such as weather apps and Wikidata.

AI21 Labs, led by Ori Goshen, Stanford University professor Yoav Shoham, and CEO Amnon Shashua, has developed AI language applications such as Wordtune and Wordtune Read. The company believes it is important to make natural language available and understand meaning.

Jurassic-1, a 178B-parameter self-egressive language model, has been created by over 10,000 developers. Although other jurisdictions, such as Jurassic-1, GPT-3, and others, have unimaginably limited the ability to reason, perform simple arithmetic, and connect to live data sources. With a MRKL system like Jurassic-X, users benefit from the existing mega language models without experiencing any of the shortcomings.

Publicis Groupe, an advertising and marketing agency, is working together to create an amazing user experience for the new architecture. According to Shoham, both companies will work together to develop an effective artificial intelligence strategy. This collaboration is part of an ongoing effort by both companies to make it easier for marketers and businesses to harness the power of artificial intelligence (AI). By partnering, they hopes to provide users with superior personalized applications.

Augmenting language models

The first implementation of the MRKL framework was unveiled as Jurassic-X and is available on AI21 Studio, a developer platform that provides immediate access to Jurassic-1. This new system, which includes external knowledge sources and symbolic reasoning experts, is the next development in NLP.

In this manner, current language models are unlikely to keep up with current developments such as fluctuating exchange rates, weather forecasts, and constantly updating sources like Wikidata. Fortunately, current language models are unlikely to have a real potential: a general-purpose natural language interface that receives a wide variety of inputs in real-time, and which responds similarly in natural language, according to Shoham.

According to Shoham, Jurassic-X was developed to address the weaknesses of mega models like Open AIs GPT-3 and Jurassic-1. The company claims that Jurassic-X enables businesses to plug in their database and extract information using free language. Jurassic-X also assists in text creation by combining a powerful language model with Wikidata.

Jurassic-X can answer non-trivial math computations described in natural language, according to him, using a language model and a calculator, ensuring that complex questions are also streamlined, answers sub-questions and is collecting the answer.

What to expect

NLP is becoming increasingly crucial as the business continues to move towards a more digitally dependent economy. Shoham said AI is fantastic, but the world is still far from capturing real intelligence. AI21 Labs says it wants to get closer in the quest to develop more accurate AI models.
