Season 2 Episodes 1 and 2 of Hacks are coming soon! **Spoilers for Hacks!
Ava Daniels, a twenty-something comedian and writer, revealed her regret for leaving Deborahs behind after a difficult blowup and causing them to fade. Ava and Deborah, together, are shocked that soon after their private plane arrives, Deborah will learn of Avas'' misdeed.
Avas betrayal isn''t quite what happens in Hacks Season 2. In fact, she has the time to confide in her and Deborahs shared manager Jimmy (Paul W. Downs), who, in turn, calls in a tremendous number of favors to conceal the email. This is precisely the moment when Ava decides to blur out her betrayal to a blindsided Deborah.
Deborah is utterly uninteresting. Jimmy is relieved that he went through hell for nothing. Ava, okay, you know, but Ava has to eat crow from now on.
Why did Hacks co-creators and showrunners Lucia Aniello, Jen Statsky, and Paul W. Downs decide to have Ava tell her on herself? And in Episode 2, we''ll see it.
I believe it''s something we didn''t want to keep it for too long, but we also didn''t want to fix it so quickly that it felt like a cheap thing we did at the end of a season for a cliffhanger, according to Decider. We also didn''t want it to be resolved and then it''s done.
Aniello said that Avas'' big decisions would reverberate throughout the entire season as a result of her sending email. She explained that she, Statsky, and Downs, wanted Avas'' choice to not only propel the plot, but to add additional character.
She is allowing to practice what she preaches. She is saying to Deborah that you have to be honest with yourself and you should be honest with the audience, and she must be honest. So even though she knows it will be a terrible thing to tell Deborah because it''s so personal and especially since Deborah is at Avas dads funeral, it''s a requirement she must do so in an honest manner.
Jimmy has recently gone through extreme bad to get Ava off the hook. She is not able to let herself off.
When Decider talked with Hacks stars, Hannah Einbinder agreed with Aniellos'' point of view.
I believe that ultimately the pressure builds and Ava cannot even ignore her conscience even further. I would rather deal with the consequences of her actions than lie to this person, according to Einbinder. I believe it just accelerated to the point where she could not continue on morally without telling her.
Jean Smart reveals that she believed Avas'' courage was admirable, particularly after witnessing Deborahs at the MMA match in Season 2 of Hacks.
She says, Jimmy, you gotta help me, and I believe she is capable of killing me,'' Smart said, laughing. [There is] blood everywhere on my face.
What doesn''t kill you strengthens you as Paul W. Downs explains the situation.
Kelly Clarkson and Aniello are all fine.
The next two episodes of Hacks will air on HBO Max on Thursday.
