Steam Deck is capable of running 1,200+ verified games, up from 350 atlaunch ...

The number of games that can be installed on the Steam Deck has been tracked by Boiling Steam since the handheld PC was first introduced on February 25, and the numbers have shown that Steam has verified playable games and made tweaks to the OS to ensure that more titles will work flawlessly on the machine.

The Steam Deck announced the release of about 350 games that would last until the first day. About 300 were deemed playable, but many had to contend with the fact that they were designed for keyboard and mouse input. It''s not a terrible start, but with thousands of games on Steam, the Steam Deck barely stutters the surface of its namesake''s library.

Today, roughly 1,289 games are functional on the handheld PC, with another 1,169 more playable with problems. That is significant progress, and the number of titles will only increase as Steam tests more titles and changes the Deck''s software.

The whole thing about Valve''s efforts is not negligible. Many gameable applications only require controller support to move them to the verified column, which is up to developers. However, the future for the on-the-go gaming PC so far is pretty bright.

Steam is in danger of getting a photo.
