Ubisoft Montreal has announced that the development of the Prince of Persia: Sands of Time remake was taken over. Formerly in the hands of Ubisofts Pune and Mumbai studios, the game has returned to its original creator studio.

According to the announcement, this decision is an important step and the team, built upon Ubisoft Pune and Ubisoft Mumbai, will now take the time they need to regroup on the game''s scope to ensure you get the best experience possible for this remake of an all-time classic when it is ready.

The remake of the game has already been postponed repeatedly, with no immediate date in sight at the previous report. The game was expected to be released in the 2022-23 fiscal year, thus it might be released as early as March 2023.

As the announcement is quick to point out, the Montreal studio also developed the original Sands of Time trilogy. Ubisoft Montreal is still working on the development of Roller Champions and supporting the newly-released Rainbow Six Extraction.
