The longest book in the Game of Thrones series, A Song of Ice and Fire, has 1,056 pages. It is nearly as many pages as the Bible, which makes sense, because Tormund is my god.
On the follow-up to The Winds of Winter, author George R.R. Martin has worked hard in an isolated location for 11 years and counting. It might end up being even longer than Dragons by the time he is finished. So, look forward to that in 2053.
THE WINDS OF WINTER will be a big book. It may be bigger than A STORM OF SWORDS or A DANCE WITH DRAGONS, one of the longest books in the series to date, according to Martin on his Not a Blog, along with updates on the NFL drafts for the New York Giants and Jets (he approves). He added, I usually cut and trim once I finish, but I must finish first. No kidding.
Martin gave a sneak peek into the Thrones prequel series House of the Dragon:
I saw lots of scenes from another episode of HOUSE OF THE DRAGON, but I was just as pleased as I was with the previous episodes. I think this series will feature a few dragons and battles, but the themes and themes are different.
You had me at a variety of dragons.
