Wendy's Menu Gets a Taco Bell Hit Idea

Wendy's Menu Gets a Taco Bell Hit Idea ...

Fast food has long been largely about food. McDonald''s Corporation Report and Restaurant Brands International (QSR) reports Burger King have tweaked their menu mainstays, posing a variety of fresh influences on the iconic Big Mac and Whopper.

While expanding their chicken offerings and even sticking a toe in the world of plant-based foods, both chains have continuously innovated, but they''ve long maintained that innovation to the main menu.

Drink innovation hasn''t been a significant impact on McDonald''s or Burger King, according to the Yum! Brands Report. Drinking innovation has not been a major feature of change for McDonald''s or Burger King. Taco Bell, however, has made interesting/bizarre beverages a mainstay of its menu.

No other company has experimented with beverages as much as Taco Bell; even sister brands Pizza Hut and KFC have largely ignored that component of the menu, but Wendy''s has slowly made drink innovation a major part of its menu. Now, the number two burger chain (sorry, Burge King) has a fresh beverage to win over customers.

Wendy''''s Adds a New Drink

McDonald''s and Burger King have largely reliant on the traditional soda and shake model they pioneered. Despite their popularity, they have dipped on other options (more Burger King than McDonald''s), but the beverage of choice remains a soft beverage (or, in recent years, milk for kids and water for individuals looking for a healthy option).

Taco Bell has been wildly successful when it comes to the beverage side of the menu. From frozen, slush-style drinks, to fresh flavors of Mountain Dew, many lemonades, and other fantastic cocktails, it has provided everything you need.

Wendy''s has expanded its traditional soda offering to include a fresh approach to the classic.

According to Chewboom, the fast-food business has expanded its lineup of Dave''s Craft Lemonades to include the Sunburst Melon Lemonade.

"You can find Sunburst Melon Lemonade at participating Wendys locations nationwide, along with the brands'' new seasonal Lemonade lineup, including Pineapple Mango Lemonade, All-Natural Lemonade, and Strawberry Lemonade."

Why Do Fast-Food Drinks Matter?

Drinks have a large margin for eateries. This can be particularly beneficial at fast-food chains where an innovative beverage might boost lower-margin food sales. The beverage, which costs basically nothing to make (the cup is usually the most expensive part of it) can increase beef, chicken, and other components to generate profitable checks.

"A large soft drink may only cost you a couple of dollars, but for restaurants that can generate a 90% profit margin," Mashed said. "High profit margins on soft drinks are one of the reasons that fast food restaurants can afford to offer cheap options such as dollar menus. Despite their potential profits, they more than compensate for it in soda sales."

While Americans have reduced on soda, alternatives, such as lemonade, have become increasingly crucial when it comes to driving checks and margins higher. A unique beverage may entail someone going to a restaurant, motivate them to spend more on their meal, and enables them to feel comfortable about their decision because they did not have soda (even if they did not actually reduce on sugar or calories).
