Ford rises a rival, GM, and Tesla ...

The long-awaited electric truck battle has begun.

Which of Ford (F) - Get Ford Motor Company Report, General Motors (GM) - Get General Motors Company Report, Rivian (RIVN) - Get Rivian Automotive, Inc. Class A Reportand Tesla (TSLA) - Get Tesla Inc Reportwill win?

The favorite is unclear as competitors all have their advantages and disadvantages. One thing they have in common is full order books, even if some models - the electric Chevrolet Silverado and the Tesla Cybertruck - have not entered production. And we''ll have to wait at least another year to see all electric vehicles compete.

Except for the Ford Lightning, buyers may right now reserve these automobiles, and their reservations have been terminated due to a high demand. And the Hummer EV Edition 1 and R1T Launch Edition are no longer available.

Ford is a huge bet for the F-150. If the legacy car manufacturer fails to say so, its choice of electrification is based on this vehicle.

If Ford can''t convince consumers that an electric pickup is as efficient and versatile as a gasoline-powered pickup, it may, according to CEO Jim Farley, end its service shift.

The F-150 has driven vehicle sales in the United States for over 40 years. It is simply the country''s most successful vehicle. It must at least replicate that success.

On April 26, Ford started the production of the F-150 Lightning.

Ford has divided technological advancements, but, above all, has emphasised utility and functionality, which truck owners often prefer over technology. The F-150 and the F-150 Lightning are almost identical.

One point that will surprise Lightning owners: The vehicle has a huge frunk -- a front trunk -- in which the engine is in the classic F-150.

The Lightning accelerates zero to 60 mph in the mid-4 seconds. The vehicle''s range is 230 to 320 miles on a battery charge depending on the model. Payload capacity is up to 2,000 pounds and towing is up to 10,000 pounds. The Lightning comes in two styles, including a standard and extended range. Lariat and Platinum are also available.

Ford identifies itself in the pricing. The company knows well that pickup purchasers aren''t ready to go wrong if they buy a mostly utility vehicle. The standard model starts at $39,970 before government credits. That''s more expensive than the 2021 F-150, which starts at $29,940. And the Platinum starts at $92,669.

Rivian R1T

Rivian''s pickup, R1T, is a connected car, with a slew of technological advancements.

"For every use, there is over 62 cubic feet of storage, including the bed, front trunk, rear storage bin, under-seat compartments, center console, and gear tunnel."

"Your mobile app, vehicle, and charging capabilities communicate seamlessly behind the scenes via cellular or Bluetooth, which allows you to get wherever youre going, safely and fully charged," the company says.

It has eight modes: four for the road and four for when it closes. Drivers may adjust ride height, suspension, pedal response, all-wheel drive, and more to ensure that every ride is comfortable, efficient, and performance.

The R1T has a fully-glass panoramic roof and an entertainment touchscreen. In terms of speeds, the R1T is all-wheel drive. It can shoot zero to 60 mph in 3 seconds and has a towing capacity of up to 11,000 pounds, while its wading depth is more than three feet.

The R1T comes in three formats: Launch Edition, Adventure, and Explore.

The launch edition, which starts at $85,000, is no longer available. The R1T Adventure has a base price of $73,000, while the R1T Explore starts at $67,500.

General Motors

Chevrolet EV Silverado

The electric Chevy Silverado will be available in fall 2023. GM has already put an end to interest in this vehicle, which might enable CEO Mary Barra''s business to offer an EV in nearly all market segments, from sedan (Bolt) to pickup via SUV (Cadillac Lyriq). This would be a significant asset to attract a large audience.

Here''s what we''ve learned so far: The electric Silverado will be capable of travelling up to 400 miles on a single charge. The battery capacity was not disclosed.

The RST First Edition version, which will be model year 2024, has power and torque of both 660 horsepower and 780 pounds. It can carry a load of up to 10,000 pounds and its box can handle a load of 1,300 pounds. There is also a fire.

The EV Silverado features a glass roof and will be equipped with four-wheel drive.

The price of the base electric Chevrolet Silverado, the WT, will start at $39,900, but it does not include the destination, which is $1,695 on the current non-electric Silverado.

According to GM, deliveries of the standard configuration will not begin before the summer 2024. The other variations'' starting base price is $50,000 without destination.

GMC EV Hummer

The 2022 Hummer EV Edition 1, whose limited numbers have been long reserved, is enormously equipped, outing a premium off-road package.

Three electric motors are combined capable of producing over 1,000 horsepower, capable of reaching up to 40 mph in under three seconds.

In short, the Hummer, in its 100% electric form, remains a monster as much by its physical force as its abilities. The range is up to 329 miles. It has towing capacity of up to 7,500 pounds, and its payload is 1,300 pounds.

The Hummer EV is initially available in a top-of-the-line $110,295 model, Edition 1, but GM intends to offer three cheaper versions: $80,000 (Hummer EV2), $90,000 (Hummer EV2X) and $100,000 (Hummer EV3X).

The Hummer EV2 will be available in spring 2024, the Hummer EV2X in spring 2023, and the Hummer EV3X in this autumn.

The GMC EV Hummer pickup has been positioned in the high-end category by GM.

Tesla''''s Cybertruck

Tesla CEO

Tesla promises to have a maximum tow rating of 14,000 pounds on the Cybertruck.
