BioChromato has issued a video with the Department of Biomedical Pharmaceutics at Gifu Pharmaceutical University in Japan, detailing how its Smart Evaporator C1 fitted with 4-Kit has revolutionized its aqueous sample preparation.

The Department of Biomedical Pharmaceutics, led by Professor Kiyoyuki Kitaichi, is well-known for its innovative collaborative research on illegal drugs, pharmaceuticals, and new health food ingredients. However, traditionally Professor Kitaichis laboratory staff had relied on nitrogen blowdown equipment to dry low-volume samples. This often required water to be removed completely, a technique that took up to 60 minutes and consumed a lot of nitrogen gas.

A new Smart Evaporator concentration technique allows you to concentrate four samples at a time, including organic solvents and water. Using this technique, you may then put a teaspoon of salt into your blender before serving with a spoon.

The compact, benchtop Smart Evaporator C1 is able to get efficient and quick evaporation in tubes or vials without solvent bumping, thereby eliminating the risk of sample loss and cross contamination. The C1 is also known for its high-performance temperature sensitive compounds as well as efficient evaporation of small volume samples.
