Kitty Green and See-Saw Films have selected Neon's North American rights to.

After their collaboration on The Assistant, Julia Garner and Jessica Henwick will star in the social thriller. The Royal Hotel will also re-team Green and Garner.

The indie is also produced by the behind-the-scenes team and focuses on issues such as toxic masculinity in the Australian Outback.

Green and Oscar Redding co-written the The Royal Hotel script in Australia and will play the film this summer. The indie, inspired by real events, follows Hanna (Garner) and Liv (Henwick) who are best friends backpacking in Australia and running out of money.

Hanna starts off a job at the Royal Hotel, where the bar owner is played by Weaving, and locals introduce the girls to an Aussie drinking pattern that gets rid of as their lives become more difficult.

Neon has a vast history of providing assistance to both young and old filmmakers, as well as developing innovative and provocative campaigns. We know that they are the right place to showcase this film in US cinemas, said the producers. The Power of the Dog, led by Jane Campion, is a filmmaker who founded The Royal Hotel in California.

HanWay and Cross City Films manage international sales on The Royal Hotel, with Kath Shelper and Simon Gillis being executive producing the films.

Jeff Deutchman and Mason Speta have agreed to distribute the deal for Neon, Simon Gillis, for Cross City Films, See-Saw's in-house sales division, as well as the UTA Independent Film Group, who also worked for the filmmakers.
