GLAAD, the world's largest lesbian, gay, bisexual, and queer (LGBTQ) media advocacy organization, today announced that it will honor award-winning actor, producer, and activist Wilson Cruz with the Vito Russo Award during the 33rd Annual at the Hilton Midtown in New York on Friday, May 6, 2022.

At the 33rd annual GLAAD Media Awards, Emmy and Tony winner Judith Light will be honored with the Excellence in Media Award.

PREVIOUS, and are among the honorees honored at the 33rd Annual Media Awards held on Saturday in Los Angeles.

Pose star received the Stephen F. Kolzak Award from, and was honored with the Vanguard Award for his excellent performances.

The Emmy nominees Bob the Drag Queen, Eureka O' Hara, and D.J. "Shangela" Pierce presented a special performance by Jake Wesley Rogers.

The GLAAD Media Awards will be available on April 16th.

The GLAAD Media Awards will take place this year at a time where visibility and storytelling can be the frontline response to a dangerous rise in anti-LGBTQ legislation around the country, according to GLAAD President and CEO Sarah Kate Ellis.

"Our nominees and award recipients, including Eternals, Hacks, and Saved by The Bell, and RuPaul's Drag Race, showcase the breathtaking diversity of LGBTQ people. At a time when we need it most, these stories rise against hate, enlighten, entertain, and send an uneniable message: We are not going anywhere."
