Scandinavia's has acquired international sales rights to an upcoming dramedy series about a struggling Danish agent to the stars.

The eight-part Agent, which has a budget of 5.7 million ($6 million) and stars Esben Smed (Follow the Money) in the lead role. Zentropa, a leading Scandinavian producer, has been attached to the show for a Q4 launch.

Joe, a 35-year-old father of Danish stars with global ambitions, is always looking for his head above water as personal difficulties fade. In the midst of his life, his daughter wants to see him.

Sidse Babett Knudsen (Borgen, Westward), Dar Salim (Darkland, Game of Thrones), Ulrich Thomsen (The Marco Effect), Lars Ranthe (Another Round) and Magnus Millang (Another Round) will appear as caricatures of themselves, according to Netflix's French series Call My Agent.

TrustNordisk is claiming a TrustNordisk associate service as "an intense, funny and touching story about a man who is in the right place, but has the wrong goals."

"We are very pleased to feature Nikolaj Lie Kaas in this new project, which is well-known for taking comedy and elevating the genre to new heights," said TrustNordisk's Managing Director.
