In this year's pantomime, Jack and the Beanstalk,,singer, songwriter, and British X-Factor winner.
Yes, she is!
Burke joins, Julian Clary, Paul Zerdin, Nigel Havers, and Gary Wilmot, stars on the Palladium from December 10 to January 15.
At Christmas, the Brits love their pantos. Michael Harrison, who runs Crossroads Pantomimes, has turned the Palladium panto into a must-see event with spectacular sets and costumes, plenty of song and dance combined with top jokes.
At the Opera House in Manchester, Burke played Scheherazade- the Spirit of the Ring last season.
Dawn is Jack's mother and Alexandra is Mrs.Blunderbore, the giant's wife, this year. She's the villainess, and she'll be terrorizing Dawn, according to Harrison.
Burke reveals that Mrs.Blunderbore is given a "cruella flavour" by Harrison.
She's up for being the baddie, but she's in it for laughs and to sing some songs, said the narrator.
In collaboration with Clary and French, Harrison will write the Palladium panto. "I'll shuttle between the two of them until we get what we're looking for. "It's about the jokes, and that's why we never focus on plot."
One gag has already been established.
King Nigel will play Havers. "For the first time Nigel is a royal," Harrison said.
'As Julian declares, he hopes to keep his Crown Jewels to himself,' said Harrison.
One day,Harrison said he'd like to see a version of the Palladium panto on Broadway. "To get a theatre just for Christmas though would be difficult. We'll see it."
