The upcoming 1950s thriller Don't Worry Darling will be sold to those qui want more middle adult pricing in cinemas.
The first trailer for the film starring Florence Pugh as a housewife named Alice, who lives with her hubby Jack, was released by Harry Styles, who has been employed by a violent campaign known as the Victory project, which is expected to change the world as we know it.
When Alice begins to observe violent activities, the women in town are told to say inside. However, Alice has concerns.
In Don't Worry Darling, there's a lot of hanky panky, but at the dining room table, against a sink, Chris Pine's character hanging around them. Uh, don't take your mother to this film when it opens on September 23.
Unlike today's trailer drop at CinemaCon, the multi-hyphenate was given a random manila envelope by a CinemaCon attendee. Social media went nuts wondering what was in the mysterious envelope. Deadline reached out to Wilde's representatives and the studio, but received no response. It was simply an unolicited script that was given to Wilde onstage. Nothing further.
Wilde said Don't Worry Darling is reminiscent of "Inception, The Matrix, and Truman Show." She asked the audience to "Imagine a life where you could have anything you ever, not just the tangible things....but also the things you really need: True love with the perfect partner, real trusted friendships. What would it take for you to give up that perfect life? Are you willing to demantle the system that you have chosen?
