Warner Bros. was able to conduct a show on Las Vegas.
The studio removed big news from the main stage at Caesars Palace Tuesday, the first confirming that Matt Reeves, Robert Pattinson, and the creative team will return to The Batman. Following this announcement, we will take a look at Wonka, Shazam, Fury of the Gods, Aquaman, and the Lost Kingdom, Salem's Lot, and Don't Worry Darling.
The Warners paid Elvis a big chunk of the early part of the program, including an extensive Q&A with Austin Butler. During this chat, Aisha Tyler was invited to the stage, asking why he tried to tell the story of the American icon. It's really about America in the '50s, '60s,' say actors. It's about America, for the good, the bad, and the ugly, it's Elvis Presley."
Elvis plays Butler in the title role as the King of Rock 'n Roll. Debuting the footage in Sin City has an immense impact as Presley's old stomping grounds. Tom Hanks plays Colonel Tom Parker in the film (shot in Australia by DP Mandy Walker who worked on Australia) is weeks away from its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival, which will bring a triumphant homecoming for Luhrmann who presented his Moulin Rouge there.
Luhrmann said that his film demonstrates classics and Elvis' characterisation, which he called "simply appropriate" for a younger generation. The film's prism includes Tom Parker, played by Hanks, and someone he joked was a newcomer. He then took offense, saying, "I had to coach him a lot to get him out of his shell."
Butler's response to receiving Presley was discussed as well as his preparation for both play him and sing his classic plays. He explained that he discovered his humanity and said he found him. "He's one of those individuals who has been elevated up to superhuman." "It was then kind of divided into periods of time because his voice changed...and his movement changed. It was also finding the time periods."
Reeves and The Batman were praised by Luhrmann and said that he considers Presley as a superhero and his film as a superhero. "Elvis is the original superhero. He comes from dirt and in a few blinding moments, rises so high, finds his kryptonite, and falls so low."
During the extended footage, Hanks character is heard saying, "In that moment, Elvis the man was sacrificed and Elvis the God was born" during an electric performance of Presley's "Trouble," after which he was evacuated from the stage in a confrontation with his audience and police. "He had no clue what he had done," Parker says again.
Timothee Chalamet's exclusive film features Wonka as the character created by author Roald Dahl and played by Gene Wilder in the classic Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory (1971). Paul King is also directing, with Rowan Atkinson, Sally Hawkins, Keegan-Michael Key, and Olivia Colman as roles.
In the opening moments, Chalamet's Wonka speaks via voiceover. What follows appears to be a fantastical adventure involving singing, dancing, and confrontations with authorities in order to spread chocolate to the world. "You have never had chocolate like this," he says before departing of a choreographed dance and enters a pothole.
As a brief trailer for The Flash was shown at the Warner Bros. Showcase at CinemaCon on Tuesday, wild crashes, a bending universe, a young Superman, and a throwback Batman Michael Keaton drew cheers.
The most effective reaction came towards the end of the clip, when Ezra Miller's Flash asked the question "Are you in?" Then we see Keaton, a non-mask, who retorts in his deadpan style: "You wanna get nuts?"
The Flash, which will be released in June 2023, is one of the longest gestating DC projects, with Miller having been the hero back in 2014 for Zack Snyder's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. A number of directors took the stage, and Ben Affleck also reprised his role as The Dark Knight for the film that deals with multiple themes. Supergirl will also be introduced by Sasha Calle.
According to the Hawaii Island Police Department, Miller has been arrested twice in Hawaii, the first in late March for allegedly causing disorderly conduct and harassment. The second was just days ago when Miller was reprimanded for allegedly assaulting a karaoke pub.
The Aquaman sequel, which featured a buff-as-ever Jason Momoa as the watery superhero and a menacing Black Manta, which was played by Yahya Abdul-Manteen II, was also shown in a short video from London. Momoa couldn't attend CinemaCon but said hello via a shirtless video (via shirtless video). Director James Wan, who was on hand in Las Vegas, said advanced special effects allowed him to advance as a filmmaker and save
Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, which also stars Amber Heard and Patrick Wilson, will premiere on March 17, 2023. Aquaman, released in 2018, became the first DC film outside of Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy to gross $1 billion at the box office, and helped bring its titular character to a new level of fame.
Zachary Levi and cast members from Shazam! Fury of the Gods, the sequel to Shazam!, released new footage from the anticipated film. The film focuses on a youngster named Billy Batson (Asher Angel), who has become an adult superhero and receives help from his foster brother, Jack Dylan Grazer (Jack Dylan).
"We didn't want to be drawn from the first hand," Levi said of balancing comedy, drama, and the heart. Angel and Grazer, along with Helen Mirren, who plays a gold-costumed Hespera, the daughter of Atlantis, joined Levi on stage.
Mirren, the new member of the "most wonderful crazy family," said her character is one "who believes she is right," as do most villains and villainesses. For Fury of the Gods, David F. Sandberg returns to direct the sequel on December 16, 2022, opposite Avatar 2, the largest film of all time.
Before speaking in a video message from Hawaii, he said "fuck this" and appear in the Colosseum to cheers, walking up to the stage and greeting convention delegates. "I could not miss this. You can experience the energy in our company. "We can see the lift and the tail wind in our business."
Tyler asked Johnson about his desire for theater to prosper. The filmmaker, who has received $11 billion in box office receipts, said he received a call from Warners Motion Picture chairman Toby Emmerich, and he would not have missed this convention "for the rest of the world."
After he discussed the pandemic and its implications, he said, We are reinvesting in bringing the theatrical experience back to life. We all took our turns with COVID and supply chain dynamics and dysfunction, and it feels like we are on the other end of it, working our way through it.
During the presentation, the commitment to the theatrical experience proved to be a top concern in Hollywood as the studio moved to the day-and-date stage amid the COVID-19 epidemic. And all eyes have been on the studio since Discovery was acquired by the company, which has been managed several times throughout the program.
Emmerich said on early occasions that "it's good to be back and believe me when I tell you, we missed you so much." He stated that David Zaslav, a Warner Bros. Discovery leader, sent his regrets for not attending the convention in person. "He was humble, according to Emmerich. He is a person who loves movies. He is a genuine fan of cinema. "
This week, actors from Hollywood backgrounds and cinema companies gather for CinemaCon, the annual convention held by the National Association of Theatre Owners. This year, the exhibitors will be particularly happy to be able to distinguish themselves from the rest and compete with streamers.
In 2020, CinemaCon was canceled altogether, while last year's event was a pared-down version performed in late August, instead of its traditional late spring slot. This year, all five major Hollywood studios, including Lionsgate and Neon, are unveiling their upcoming slates during their time on stage inside the Colosseum at Caesars Palace. CinemaCon 2022 will be open April 25-28.
