This June, the festival will feature a second iteration, followed by the first in 2019.

On the first day of the festival, Lil Baby,, Tyler The Creator, Run The Jewels, and others will feature on the roster.

Despite the 'everything' of the city's mayor and local government, Williams decided not to return to Virginia Beach last year. The results are a result of unrest following the, by Virginia Beach police.

In a statement, Williams stated that he was inspired by the following things:

"Something in the Water is a Black solution (LOVE) for a systemic issue, and this year we are taking our celebration to a higher levelthe nation's capital during the Juneteenth Weekend. I want to continue to show the world that there is Something in the Water across these communities. It is the land where Go-Go Music was born which has provided so much for me as a person and a musician. We continue to go the extra mile to show that something in the Water is so much more than

Past festival-goers will have access to a pre-sale starting Wednesday. Virginia residents will have access to a "Virginia Locals Only" presale on Friday, April 29 starting at 10 a.m. ET through 5 p.m. ET.

"If you're celebrating music, if you're focused on Black excellence, and if you're drawing attention to the people who have committed their lives to delaying barriers and strengthening our communities," said Mayor Muriel Bowser. "We are delighted to be working with Pharrell to bring Something In The Water to DC for the Juneteenth weekend. DC is open and we're ready to celebrate."
