EXCLUSIVE: (Grown-ish) has signed on to star in the upcoming film, which (Little) is directing for.

Praise This is a music-competition feature comedy set in the world of youth choirs. Universal is pursuing a potential franchise in the vein of Pitch Perfect, with production on the first installment of the script scheduled for June. Gordon drafted the latest draft, which was based on an original idea by The Story Company. Earlier drafts were written by Camilla Blackett (Little, New Girl) and Hudson Obayuwana, and Jana Savage, the trio otherwise known as Murder

Will Packer's first-look partnership with Universal has resulted in such successes as Night School, Girls Trip, The Ride Along, and Little. WPP's founder and CEO Tim Story will collaborate with the company, along with CEO Johanna Byer, who is executive vice president of production Erik Baiers and director of production development Tony Ducret.

Bailey is a prolific singer-songwriter and recording artist who previously appeared on Freeform's hit show Grown-ish, where she was first introduced to The Georgetown Project last year, with Russell Crowe and Ryan Simpkins.

Gordon previously directed and directed Peeples for Lionsgate, including Little, starring Regina Hall, Issa Rae, and Marsai Martin. Her roles as a screenwriter include Drumline and What Men Want.
