Beginning Saturday, two rods per angler will be permitted throughout the Willamette Valley.

The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife announced the rule change Friday, extending the two-rod area from below Willamette Falls to the entire drainage above the falls for nearly all fish, including hatchery salmon, hatchery steelhead, trout, and coldwater species.

The only exception will be sturgeon angling, limited to one rod.

Anglers aged 12 and older will need to acquire a two-rod validation.

For The Oregonian/OregonLive, here is how it works.
