Manchester United was forced to make a comeback in their quest to qualify for the Champions League next season by drawing with Leicester 1-1 at home in the English Premier League on Saturday.

Ronaldo, who helped Portugal qualify for the World Cup on Tuesday, failed the match at Old Trafford with flu-like symptoms, and United remained the leading scorer.

United ended up getting a goal from Fred for a point, with the defensive midfielder scoring in the 66th minute, just three minutes after Kelechi Iheanacho completed the match for Leicester.

United looks to be more likely to win a place in the Champions League due to the wreckage of a season in which the team is already out of every cup competition.

United is four points behind behind behind Arsenal, who now holds the final Champions League qualification. Arsenal also has two games in hand, the first of which will be at Crystal Palace on Monday.

Leicester, who is ninth, has another European competition on its mind, the third-tier Europa Conference League, in which the team has advanced to the quarterfinals and will face PSV Eindhoven on Thursday.

Although the league might not be the priority, Brendan Rodgers still fielded a solid lineup at Old Trafford and Leicester, which resulted in a lot of disagreements.

Iheanacho scored a fantastic team goal, with Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall returning with a great covering tackle, James Maddison giving a pinpoint cross with his left foot, and Iheanacho shooting a diving header past David De Gea.

United's response was immediate, with Fred ramming home a rebound after Kasper Schmeichel couldn't put the ball out of Bruno Fernandes' goal.

Maddison had later scored for an earlier foul by Iheanacho, an incident that Rodgers supposedly reported to the authorities at full time.
