Police said a Birmingham man who was jailed in Georgia while facing charges of killing two people has been charged with robbing a Hoover pharmacy the day after the killings.

On January 7, Joshua Magaul Sanders, 27, allegedly stole several medications from the Walgreens at 5271 Ross Bridge Pkwy., according to Hoover, police spokesman Keith Czeskleba.

Sanders reportedly killed two people in Georgia the day before the robbery. He is currently in prison at the Toombs County jail.

After one of the victims saw a news story about Sanders being detained for the Georgia double murder on January 12th.

According to Czeskleba, the victim recognized Sanders' photo as the same person who robbed the Walgreens.

Hoover detectives, as well as investigators in Arizona, Georgia, and the United States Marshals, have obtained evidence linking Sanders to the robbery.

Sanders is facing four counts of first-degree robbery and his bond is $120,000 in connection with the incident.
