For game two of the four-game set on Friday night in Missouri, the Kansas City Royals kicked off the game with a win on Thursday.
Detroit came out in front with a two-run second inning, highlighted by Miguel Cabrera scoring on a sac-fly from Harold Castro. While the Royals were able to come back with a pair of runs in the fourth, RBIs from Victor Reyes and Austin Meadows aided the Tigers.
Casey Mize hit two out against the Tigers in five innings of work, while Joe Jimenez's one-inning of work in the sixth earned him the victory. The Tigers' third victory of the season gave them a three-game losing streak.
KC offense saw Hunter Dozier progress 3-4 after a run scored. Zach Greinke threw 5.1 innings, giving up the first two runs to Detroit, but Jake Brentz gave him his second loss of the season.
