For Jackie Robinson's 75th anniversary, players from the majors will give him the no. 42 and all of them in the Dodger blue this year.

Commissioner will conduct a conference for youth baseball players from New York with special guests Ken Griffey Jr., former-, and catcher Butch Huskey, the last major leaguer to wear Robinson's number.

At noon, Sabathia, Rivera, Torre, Huskey, and Jackie's granddaughter, Meta Robinson, will attend the Empire State Building lighting ceremony. The world-renowned tower will feature blue and white lights, with the No. 42 on display.

The Dodgers, on the back of the game, will play home in Los Angeles, where they will play the Cincinnati Reds. Robinson's 99-year-old widow, Rachel, and her son David will join the Dodgers.

David Robinson will be joined by Robinson's granddaughter, Ayo, and pitcher David Price, along with Curtis Granderson and Edwin Jackson, the founders of the Players Alliance.

Mookie Betts, an outsidefielder, will display a mural of Robinson in nearby John Muir High. He played in football, basketball, baseball, and track at the Pasadena school in the 1930s.






Before their home opener against Arizona, the Mets will unveil a statue outside Citi Field for a Hall of Fame ace.

Nancy, who married Seaver, and their two daughters will be on hand for the unveiling. Seaver's three-time Cy Young Award winner, Thomas and Tobin, will throw ceremonial first pitches. In 2020, Seaver died.

This year, a former Yankees manager will make a homecoming. Chris Bassitt (1-0, 0.00), a right-hander, is expected to face Zach Davies of the Diamondbacks (0-0, 3.6).
