Moyes wants West Ham to believe they are the Europa League favorites ...

According to reports, West Ham United's manager, David Moyes wants his team to consider themselves as an advantager in the Europa League after reaching their first major European semi-final in 46 years with victory at Olympique Lyonnais on Thursday.

West Ham defeated the French side 3-0 in the second leg to advance 4-1 on aggregate and set up a semi-final against Eintracht Frankfurt.

Frankfurt was also the dominant in the semi-finals of the 1976 European Cup Winners' Cup, the last major European semi-finals.

"We're not favourites, but I want the players to see that they are," Moyes said of reporters. "I want the players to have a great self-belief, and I want them to think right from the start of the tournament.

"I've always thought the form we were in at the start of this season, and I would have taken anyone on at that time."

Moyes, who took West Ham from the brink of relegation for the 2019-20 season, described it as a "monumental period" for the London club.

"I'm hoping we can keep it going, and I'm hoping we can go through the final soon," he added.

With six matches left, West Ham are sixth in the Premier League, with just 51 points remaining. On Sunday, they will play Burnley.
