A four-term house legislator who currently represents District 34 in Beaverton, Hillsboro, and nonincorporated areas north of Highway 26, is aping in the newly redrawn District 27 against a political newcomer, doctor Tammy Carpenter.
The current Helm, however, extends south into Beaverton and not as far west along the United States 26, sending him in part to a fresh set of voters.
