Three or four homes in Greene County were badly damaged, but no injuries were reported, according to county EMA director Hodges Smith.

According to the National Weather Service, apartments in the region have also been damaged roof.

We are focusing on finding places to go and preserving people's safes from the power lines, Smith said Thursday morning.

According to The Associated Press, Billy Hicks, who lives in the area, told WBMA-TV that he was lying down when he heard a gust of wind that dured only a few seconds.

"I stowed up and put my clothes on when everything was over with," Hicks said of his walk to the side door and looked across the street. I knew that something had struck all of these houses, according to Hicks, who was sent to his car to check on his neighbors.

A fire in Hale County sparked by Downed powerlines.

COUNTY OFFICIAL reports At 10:04 PM CDT, 4 NW Phipps [Hale Co, AL] SEVERAL TREES AND POWER LINES WERE BLOWN DOWN. A FIRE STARTED DUE TO THE POWER LINES BEING DOWN. MOST OF THE TREES ARE DOWN NEAR CR 44 AND CR 50.

A tree was also knocked onto a house in Limestone County, and the tree was then removed.
