EXCLUSIVE: (Younger) and (The Lying Game) have been cast as the lead of a titled drama pilot based on the award-winning Dutch series. The pilot is written by The Village creator and will be directed by Stephanie Laing.

The show, which is described as a funny and heartfelt drama, chronicles the epic love and lives of two completely strangers, Adam (Rappaport) and Eva (Chando, who both have been defying coincidence. The show takes a break from the habit by combining a serialized, stand-up-and-cheer romantic comedy with the varied and often unexpected human stories of anyone who comes six degrees from Adam and Eva.

After a devastating breakdown, Adam, a former high school teacher and romantic attempting to find his footing in Brooklyn. Eva, from Chando, is an aspiring artist and force of nature who tries to maintain his ideals while she meets Adam.

The Dutch series, which ran from 2011 to 16, received huge acclaim, and featured Teun Luijkx as Adam and Eva van de Wijdeven.

Universal Television has provided the adaptation in collaboration with 6107 Productions, David Janollari Entertainment, and Willy Waltz International.

Together with Robert Alberdingk Thijm and Norbert Ter Hall, Daniels, Laing, David Janollari, Rob Golenberg, and Alon Aranya lead productions. Chris Markey is the producer of the film.

Rappaport, a People and Outsourced alum, has been recurring on NBC/Uni TV's Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. His films include Inventing Anna, Younger, Mr. Robot, and The Good Wife. He currently stars onstage as Jack Paar against Sean Hayes in the world premiere of Good Night and Oscar at the Goodman Theatre in Chicago, which closes April 24. Chando received a Daytime Emmy nomination for her role on As the World Turns in 2007. She also appeared in Freeform's (now-ABC Family) The Lying Game and recurred on Amazon's Sneaky Pete. Gersh, Untitled, and McKuin Frankel Whitehead have both repped him.
