At the Last Minute, Arcade Fire will join the 2022 Coachella lineup ...

It's likely that the lineup will be altered just hours away from kickoff on Friday, April 15. At this point, it would be safe to assume there wouldn't be a time to make changes to the lineup, except for an even greater delay. And that's all they have done, as they revealed today, which will be performing at this year's festival.

Coachella gave the first weekend of the 2022 festival, which was previously not expected to take part in the event, as planned from 6:45 to 7:45 p.m. on the Mojave stage, followed by Carly Rae Jepsen and before Idles.

Set times are unprecedented

After Arcade Fire shared a Win Butler selfie in front of some palm trees and captioned it, "Decided to spend my birthday somewhere warm and dry," the post said. However, the image has now been confirmed as a tease/announcement of their addition to the lineup.

Decided to spend my birthday in a calm and chilly climate.

As Butler said in a video shared hours ago, the band announced today that they will give their Osheaga festival performance to late Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins.

Without Will Butler, the band would likely be performing both events without him, who reportedly stated last month that he had, stating, "There was no acute reason beyond that I've changed and the band has changed in the last almost 20 years."
