The next slide features a photo of Zauner's mother and reads, "Thx for looking out for me" with the Korean word translates to "mom." The text says, "I enjoy this photo. I make this face everyday. It's me perplexing how crazy a book which basically just discovered our family's greatest tragedies and tried to make sense of the tragedy has evolved into this runaway bestseller."

Zauner's next image is adamantly described: "And all the tears I cried and all the days I wanted to abandon because I felt too incompetent and miserable to finish." The final image is a young Zauner and her mother, as accompanied by the text, saying, "And now the world has fallen in love with your character and cries for you too."
