In the days following, co-host Amy Schumer said she was shocked by the incident. She continued, "So much pain in @willsmith anyway. I'm still in shock and stunned and sad. Im proud of myself and my cohosts. But yeah. Waiting for this horrifying feeling to fade from what we all saw."

Schumer faced backlash for her hyperbolic "triggered and traumatized" comments during Wednesday's episode of The Howard Stern. "People mocked me for declaring it was traumatizing," she told Howard Stern. "I don't believe it was traumatizing for me. I think it was traumatizing for ourselves."
