It's likely that the library of science fiction is lacking.
There are a few humdingers on the back. Disney Plus's top science fiction lists are presented.
Avatar occupies a unique space in our collective imagination. Not too long ago, it was the highest-grossing film in history, yet somehow the cultural footprint it left behind feels incredibly flaw.
If Avatar 2 is released, then that could be changed. For the time being, it may be fun to rewatch Avatar, a different formulaic movie, in some ways, but in others, it is also quite imaginative and powerful.
9.Flight of the Navigator
Flight of the Navigator is the very definition of cult classic. It was one of the very first movies to make use of CGI, and certain variations have dated, but this 1986 film is quite a nostalgic sensation.
WALL-E is far from my favorite Pixar film, but it's probably the most sci-fi movie in the universe.
It's certainly good. It has a lot to say about the environment and our overreliance on technology, but it's still beneficial.
7.I Shrunk the Kids, Honey
Honey, I Shrunk the Kids is a sci-fi film. It involves science and fiction. Recently, I rewatched it, and everyone had a great day. For the most part, the special effects are hilarious and fun. Ideal for a low-key family movie night.
Now we're talking. Tron: Legacy is hardly a classic by any stretch of the imagination, but it's fun. It's objectively... not quite great but enjoyable for reasons of nostalgia and the place Tron holds in our cultural imagination.
If you're gonna see Tron Legacy, why not not watch it? It's as old as you might expect, but come on! Tron!
With this entry, I'm really stretching the boundaries of science fiction, but Thor: Ragnarok is for my money the best Marvel film. It's the most stylish, the most powerful, and perhaps the funniest of the bunch. It's pure pleasure.
Inside Out isn't a sci-fi, but I'm adding it here because...1. It has a stunning, well-regarded sci-fi aesthetic.
2. It's probably my favorite Pixar film. Everybody should watch Inside Out irrespective of the genre.
It's also a fantastic Avengers movie, with great stakes and great characters. It's also a science fiction film. It's also a good ending.
2.The Empire Returns
The Empire Strikes Back is your default choice for the best Star Wars film for a reason: it's fantastic! It gets bog standard praise for being "dark" or "gritty," but It's only a tight, well-structured film that makes great use of its iconic character set. It's also beautifully shot. Every frame of this film is marvelous to watch.
1.The Last Jedi
Yes, I put The Last Jedi above Empire Strikes back. Bear with me here! The Last Jedi is perhaps the finest Star Wars movie of the most recent trilogy and, arguably, one of the best Star Wars movies ever made. The Rise of Skywalker has ruined its legacy, but The Last Jedi is still as good and as bold as franchise movies. I love it.
