Zach Parise scores twice as the Islanders defeat the Seattle Kraken 5-2 on a tense night for New York defenseman Zdeno Chara.
The Islanders beat Brock Nelson, Parise, Kyle Palmieri, and Casey Cizikas for the first two games, winning for the second time in six games. New York goalie Ilya Sorokin made 23 saves.
Chara, who played in his 1,651st career game, received an assist on Parise's late empty-net goal, tying him with Chris Chelios for the most defense games in NHL history.
The Kraken, which lost their fifth straight defeat, scored Yanni Gourde and Riley Sheahan. Seattle goalie Philipp Grubauer recorded 31 saves.
Blue Jackets 4, Maple Leafs 3 (OT)
Columbus defeated Toronto 20 seconds into overtime. Patrik Laine scored his second goal of the game.
On a pass from Jakub Voracek, Laine netted his 18th of the season. The Blue Jackets have also won eight of their last 10 games, including Zach Werenski and Jean-Francois Berube.
Jason Spezza beat Toronto at 17:54 of the third period, with goaltender Jack Campbell removed for an additional attacker. Auston Matthews scored and two assists for the Maple Leafs, who have lost three games. Campbell made 26 saves.
Panthers 4, Predators
Tanner Jeannot scored two third-period goals and Mikael Granlund added the go-ahead goal as Nashville ended a four-game losing streak by rallying for a victory in Sunrise, Fla.
Granlund's game-winner came with 5:31 remaining, giving Nashville its first lead after three games. Filip Forsberg, Roman Josi, and Yakov Trenin both scored for Nashville, who received 44 saves from David Rittich.
Sam Reinhart, Radko Gudas, Aaron Ekblad, and Sam Bennett scored for the Panthers, who won their nine-game home win at the end of this season, losing for the fourth time in 27 home games. Sergei Bobrovsky stopped 27 shots.
Flyers 1: Blues 4, Blues
Ivan Barbashev had a goal and an assist to put Saint Louis past Philadelphia.
Brayden Schenn, Vladimir Tarasenko, and Brandon Saad each added one goal, while Niko Mikkola added two assists for the Blues, who won for the fourth time in five games. Jordan Binnington made 25 saves.
Oskar Lindblom leads the Flyers, who have dropped six in a row (0-4-2) and three straight (0-2-1) to lead their eight-game homestand. Martin Jones got the start for the second game in a row because Carter Hart was diagnosed with an eye infection and he had to leave 22 shots.
Senators 4, Wild 3, and John McCain
Thomas Chabot, a defenseman, achieved two goals and an assist in his return from a four-game absence, bringing Ottawa to a victory on Tuesday.
Chabot, who had been sidelined by an unidentified injury, scored the result with 5:45 remaining left. In his third consecutive contest, Tim Stutzle scored, but captain Brady Tkachuk scored also for the Senators, and Anton Forsberg made 40 saves to assist them defeat the Wild in a nine-game game.
Kevin Fiala secured a goal and an assist for the Wild, who have lost three of their last four games. Captain Jared Spurgeon and fellow defenseman Jon Merrill also scored for Minnesota.
Ducks 4, Sharks 3, and SoCal
Anaheim returned to victory against San Jose after scoring two goals in regulation.
Derek Grant scored a goal as the Ducks won for the first time since January 21 after playing eight of the previous nine games on the road. Anthony Stolarz made 40 saves in a remarkable start over John Gibson.
In the third round, Trevor Zegras put Anaheim on the score before Rakell's close-range shot into the goal. James Reimer of San Jose recorded 26 saves.
