Early Thursday, many people on area freeways were hurt, including a complete closure of Interstate 5 northbound south of Woodland, Wash.
The I-5 northbound was blocked south of Woodland at 6 a.m., due to a serious incident. Twitter users said of severe thunderstorms in the area, snow and ice on the roadway. The crash commenced shortly before 7 a.m., but disabled vehicles have continued to block the highway through 8 a.m. Long lines of northbound traffic begin at Ridgefield.
The I-5 NB crash south of Woodland has been cleared by UPDATE/WSDOT. Traffic is still extremely heavy in the area, and roads are still slick. Use caution.
In Hazel Dell, a disabled vehicle blocked a few lines of I-5 northbound near 78th Avenue. It has since been recovered.
Portland wasn't immune either. Interstate 84 saw several bus stops east and westbound near the 181st Avenue exit. About 6:30 a.m. Traffic cameras showed snow on the highway and shoulders.
The National Weather Service predicts that the rapid-moving weather system will have a slew of results. The afternoon is expected to provide increased gradual clearing.
C-Tran, a Vancouver public transportation company, has changed its service due to snow-covered roads, particularly along Interstate 205 and east into the Battle Ground and Orchards areas. Buses 9 and 19 were on snow routes, and buses 47 and 48 were suspended.

7:30 a.m. in Troutdale, California, police are urging motorists to avoid Southwest 257th Avenue near Cherry Park Road as a result of a sluggish stolen vehicle.

Deputies are looking for a suspect connected to a stolen car near SW 257th between Sturges Dr. and Cherry Park Road. If you're traveling within the search perimeter, we're asking people to avoid the area.
