After a fatal hit-and-run in Berrien County, police are looking for a Jeep or other SUV ...

Update: 9:20 a.m., February 24: Police have found the Jeep Compass and ruled it out. They are still looking for a dark colored pickup or SUV.

BERRIEN COUNTY, MI Police suspect a Jeep or a smaller SUV was involved in a hit-and-run event that left a pedestrian dead.

Monica Clubb, of Niles, was hit by a vehicle on South 3rd Street near Brooks Street on Sunday, February 20, according to the Berrien County Sheriff's Office.

Clubb was taken to a hospital where she later died, according to authorities.

The sheriff's office said a black Jeep Compass or a smaller SUV were likely involved in the deadly hit-and-run.

The vehicle, which features photos of the sheriff's office, was pulled off shortly after the first responders arrived, according to authorities.

Anyone who knows the owner or occupant of the vehicle is asked to call the sheriff's detective office at 269-983-7111, or the extension 7224, or to disclose information anonymously by calling 1-800-342-7867.
