Gazprom Neft Plans To Launch Production Technology Without Human Participation In Five Years
Gazprom Neft is developing technologies for so-called unpopulated onshore oil production and intends to receive the first such asset in 2025, a company representative said during a speech at the Tyumen oil and gas forum.
"In the active phase, we will start implementing pilot projects until 2023. In other words, starting from 2023, in 2025, we will get the first deserted such asset. A sparsely populated field, you might say. We are talking about land, " he said.
The representative of the company stressed that the introduction of these technologies implies the retraining of personnel. "This does not mean that the company will put them out of the door. New systems, new processes will be introduced, current approaches will be reviewed, and people will be involved in more complex intellectual processes," he said.
"We are moving away from the line staff that serves the equipment in the fields. These people will go to the production management center at remote sites, " the representative added.
The company believes that such assets will allow Gazprom Neft to implement new projects, while reducing capital costs for the project, reducing operating costs by speeding up work at remote sites, improving production safety, and eliminating active, outdated operations on projects. So, according to her estimates, the reduction in labor costs will be up to 76%: the lion's share (about 50%) will be on digitalization, as well as on the exclusion of operations due to the use of new materials.
