In Belgium, Instead Of Distributing Masks, People Will Be Offered Material For Their Production
In Belgium, instead of distributing masks, people will be offered material for their production.
The issue of selling and wearing masks by citizens of Belgium after leaving the isolation regime in connection with the COVID-19 pandemic will be resolved through the national production of fabric masks, the portal of the newspaper Le Soir reported on Sunday.
It is noted that experts see the need to wear masks in all situations when it will be difficult for people to observe the social distance.
The publication adds that previously discussed a decision in which local authorities at the level of communes and public urban organizations will distribute free of charge among the population fabric masks provided by the Federal government.
However, on Sunday, the Association of Brussels communes Brulocalis announced to the 19 burgomasters of the capital's communes the government's decision that there will be no distribution of masks.
Instead, it is proposed to distribute the filter material that citizens use to make masks at home. This will make these masks as effective as those produced industrially, the authorities explained.
Industrial masks will be delivered to the retail chain, Brulocalis explains.
This statement provoked the displeasure of municipal officials, who now have to explain to the population that they must sew masks, Le Soir writes.
