Domino's Pizza Will Hire 5,000 People To Work On Christmas Day In Britain
Pizza delivery chain Domino's Pizza in the UK intends to create an additional 5,000 jobs for young people who will be employed in the upcoming festive Christmas and new year season, the company said.
"Five thousand new jobs include pizza bakers, customer support staff, and delivery drivers. These positions are among the 6,000 jobs created by Domino's since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic this year," the report said.
Jobs are created as part of the Kickstart program launched by the UK government to employ young people aged 16-24.
It's worth noting that participants of the program will be trained at Domino's and will receive a salary "in accordance with the current level of payment" in the company. After six months of work, they will be able to apply for permanent positions.
The company, whose sales increased during the COVID-19 pandemic, noted that Domino's introduced measures such as contactless delivery and simplified menus.
"All team members are trained in Domino's strict food safety and hygiene practices to ensure that customers receive freshly prepared hot pizza with maximum safety," the statement said.
