Facebook Will Provide Users With Information About Climate Change
Facebook has announced the creation of a platform where users can get "up-to-date and fact-based" information about climate change.
"One of the main lessons we learned from the COVID-19 pandemic is how powerful Facebook is in providing people with reliable, expert advice, and information during a global crisis. Facebook Facebook is now taking a similar approach to the climate crisis by launching a climate science information center on Facebook so that people can get up-to-date and fact-based information about the climate," Facebook said in a press release.
The climate science information center is a special space on Facebook that collects data from leading climate organizations and information about practical steps that people can apply in their daily lives "to combat climate change."
In particular, the center will present data and statistics provided by the intergovernmental panel on climate change at the United Nations (IPCC), the National oceanic and atmospheric administration at the US Department of Commerce (NOAA), the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), and other agencies and organizations.
The center will be launched in France, Germany, the United Kingdom, and the United States, and later it will work in other countries, according to a press release.
