Reservations for the Subaru Solterra electric crossover SUV have been made for the 2023 season.
The Solterra is the company's first fully electric vehicle. It is the latest evidence of the Japanese automaker's long-standing partnership with automotive heavyweight.
The Solterra is the most advanced Subaru product to date, and will carry an estimated 220 miles, which is oddly short of Toyota's 250-mile range estimate.
Solterra, the Subaru of EVs, will be launched in 2023.
The Solterra will be available in mid-May this summer. There are a limited number of reservations slots which each will cost $250. If you get cold feet and don't want to go through with an order, this reservation fee is refundable. Final vehicle pricing will be agreed upon with your local Subaru dealer between April and May this year.
Subaru reveals that it has teamed up with EVgo, the national charging network, as part of the announcement.
Subaru declined to comment further beyond.
